Install IssueMesh

From the installation link to the first synchronized issue, without scripts or consultants.

Before you start

1. Get the installation link

IssueMesh is not on the Atlassian Marketplace yet, so installations go through an installation link. Choose the edition: IssueMesh, or IssueMesh Free if your partner runs IssueMesh. Tell us your Jira Cloud site and your partner in the contact form, and we send you the link.

2. Install and approve the permissions

Open the link as a Jira site admin, choose your site and approve the app's permissions:

PermissionWhy IssueMesh needs it
Read Jira workread the issues, fields, statuses and comments of enabled spaces
Write Jira workcreate and update synchronized issues, comments, attachments and links
Read Jira usersshow people's display names (no e-mail addresses)
App storagekeep the organization name and the enabled spaces in the app
App system tokenlet the IssueMesh Hub act as the app's user
App user tokenlet the Hub check that a person administers the space they configure

The app registers itself with the IssueMesh Hub - no tokens, accounts or API keys to create.

3. Complete the IssueMesh admin page

In Jira, open Jira settings (⚙) › Apps › IssueMesh (or IssueMesh Free) and follow Getting started:

  1. Name your organization. Your partner sees this name next to your site address. Nothing synchronizes without it.
  2. Enable spaces. Only enabled spaces can be paired; events of other spaces never leave your site.

4. Pair a space and choose what to share

  1. A space admin opens Space settings › Apps › IssueMesh, chooses New pairing and enters the partner's site address, their space key and where issues mainly originate.
  2. The partner's space admin accepts the request in their space settings.
  3. Each side opens the pairing and chooses Use recommended setup - or sets up Sending and Receiving field by field.
  4. If the spaces already had issues, decide about them on the Existing issues tab.

The setup checklist on each pairing always shows the next step. Synchronization of a direction starts as soon as both sides have saved their half.
